FAQ For Foreign Students

PLEASE NOTE: This is a cultural exchange program. It is meant for you to experience American cultural and work at the same time.

Jazzie hires foreign students to work as lifeguards for the summer. If you are a foreign student looking for a Summer job with Jazzie, you must meet the following criteria to be eligible for employment with Jazzie:

1.

You must contact an employment agency. The agency will arrange the paperwork for you to work legally in the United States. Some agencies will also arrange your travel to the United States for you. You will need a J-1 Visa and a Social Security number to work. The following agencies can help you:

2.

You must arrive in Virginia by June to start work. You may work until September 30.

3.

You must be able to speak, read, and write English.

4.

You must have good swimming skills and be a certified lifeguard. If you are not a certified lifeguard, you may take our certification class once you arrive in Virginia. You must pass this course in order to work.
